“Biker” Pastor starts at Kings Road Church
(6th October 2008)

Ray Toms (aged 54) and his wife Lindsey have just joined Kings Road Church as pastor and administrator. Ray preached last Sunday at the church’s service at Bridgewater School. His theme was on loving God.
Viv Watson who chairs the church’s elders said “We are delighted that Ray and Lindsey have joined the church and are looking forward to seeing the church continuing to grow”.
Ray had his own plumbing business employing up to ten people for a number of years. At the same time he was working in churches helping them to grow. After studying theology at Moorlands College he began working full time as a pastor at a church in Bromley Over the last four years the church doubled in size.
Ray and Lindsey have four grown up children who are all active in Christian ministry in various places. Ray and Lindsey are delighted also to have two adopted African grandchildren through their daughter Vashti and her husband who work with HIV/AIDS orphans in South Africa.
One of Ray’s treasured possessions is his 650cc motor bike. Motor bikes have been a passion with Ray for years and he has the scars to prove it. As soon as he was old enough to ride one and got a licence he got a 650 Triumph.
Lindsey is qualified in helping special needs children and is hoping to get a part time post to continue working with children.
Ray said that he marvels at the way God led Lindsey and him to Kings Road Church and he is very excited at the prospect of working in Berkhamsted. Ray would love to meet folk in Berkhamsted and he is readily available on 01442 864393.
