40 Days of Community

In March 2006 Kings Road Church organised 40 days of Community. This section contains some of the information posted on our web site from that time.

Read the article that appeared in the local paper, check out the photos from the first week and read the Sunday morning talks.

What is “40 Days of Community”?

You may have heard of 40 Days of Community or seen the posters and wondered what it’s all about. It is an effort to build a sense of community in our area, sponsored by Kings Road Church.

Groups will also share in various community projects. This has never been attempted before by our Church. Whether you attend a church or not, you are invited to share in 40 Days of Community. Please meet us at Bridgewater School on Sunday 5th March.

Together we’ll learn:

  • Why we need others to fulfill our purpose in life.
  • How God uses people to prepare us for eternity.
  • Why learning real love is life’s greatest lesson.
  • How to turn bad relationships into great ones …..
  • And probably a lot more besides!

According to Pastor Billy Milton, the programme will be looking at the biggest question of all, and ultimately the question that most people are seeking answers to, as he comments:

40 Days of Community focuses on ‘the’ question – what on earth are we here for?! Over a number of weeks the church will be looking at what God has to say about the meaning and purpose of life. Sunday services will be supplemented by a number of friendly home-groups in the week where people can discuss in more depth what we’ve talked about on Sunday, and have the opportunity to ask those burning questions!

The programme starts on Sunday 5th March at 10.30am at the Bridgewater School, and Church Elder Vivian Watson encourages readers to come and find out more, as he says:

Understanding why we are here, and what our purpose is are central to us finding peace and happiness in life, and this programme can help us all start or continue on our journey. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, or where you are coming from, everyone is invited, and we very much hope that readers will be able to join us. As a progressive church, you’ll find a warm, friendly and relaxing environment, lively music and challenging teaching. Family is very important to us, and we also have a crèche for youngsters and groups for both junior age and teenagers. Why not join us on Sunday and find out more!
