Youth Work at KRC

At Kings Road Church we are passionate about young people.  We know that God is completely crazy about them and that He wants to see them shine and reach their full potential, and because it's God's hearts cry for them it's also ours.  As a church we have a full-time worker who's sole responsibility is working with under 18's.  Along with Brendyn we have a team of trusted volunteers who have been CRB checked. Some helpers may still be in the process of having their check done and are therefore never left alone with the children.

Our vision for the youth work is to be a 'city on a hill,' a group of young people that don't seek to hide away or blend in, but people who shine God's light brightly to Berkhamsted and the surrounding areas.  As a group we want to a postive inlfuence to our community as well as the rest of the church.  We strongly believe that God longs to use everyone, and therefore we seek to encourage young people to find their own personal way to serve God and then equip them to do so effectively. 

At the very heart of what we do is a longing for people to see God as the life-giving friend that He is.

What do we offer?

Amplify: is for school years 6 - 8 and meets every second Friday at Beulah on Kings Road, Berkhamsted from 18:00 - 19:00.  Dates for this term are:  13/01; 27/01; 10/02; 24/02; 09/03; 23/03.

Illuminate: is for school years 9 - 13 and meets every Friday at Beulah on Kings Road, Berkhamsted from 19:30 - 21:30. 

Friday Nights:  meets every Friday night at Kings Road church from 22:00 - 00:00.  We open our build as a drop-in centre for under 18's who want to come and hang out and get a bacon roll.

Equip: is a Sunday morning group, run alongside our Sunday morning church service, for school years 7 - 11.

Youth Home Group: we meet every Wednesday from 19:30 - 21:00 at one of the young people's houses.  If you want to know where we're meeting contact Brendyn.

Refract: is the joint youth work in the Berkhamsted, Northchurch, and Tring.  For more information please see www.refract.org.uk

Schools Work:  We're also involved with a number of the local schools, doing RE lessons, lunch time clubs and assemblies.
